Richard Lander School school has attained the International School Award for the breadth and quality of the international dimension to our work.
We regularly run trips to France, USA, Germany and Uganda and we are in the process of developing exchange links with Spain.
The international dimension is also supported through the curriculum; our Modern Foreign Languages curriculum allows students to study French, German and Spanish to GCSE as well as Mandarin as an enrichment activity. The numbers of students opting to study a language up to GCSE level and their results, are among the best in the county and this is an affirmation of the place of languages in the curriculum.
The international dimension is also supported across all other areas of the curriculum, which ensure it is a well considered part of their programmes of study. In a global and technological age, it is important that our students have a global perspective, developing their an understanding of community, service and sustainability.
