In 2012, Richard Lander School took lead role in organising a Cornish International Student Leadership conference, involving over 10 secondary schools in the county plus their international partner schools. The focus of the conference was 'developing student leadership within global sustainability issues'.
The result was a fabulous 3 day conference involving over 30 schools, with 10 Cornish schools and their international partners from countries as far away as France, USA, China, Uganda and India. Students spent 2 days based at The Eden Project, working with partners from oversees schools, and getting to know the sustainability issues specific to each of these countries. The following day, students were able to use the Council Chambers at County Hall and each of the groups led presentations to all other delegates.
The success of the project means that it will be repeated again in a years' time, with India being the probable venue.
