Curriculum: Key Learning Skills

The development of key learning skills is fundamental to wider student achievement.  To this end, in all year groups and in all subject areas we aim to develop students' Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. These skills provide the platform for further success at college and university beyond and will equip students for the world of work and successful living.

As a result, our curriculum aims to help students become successful learners, confident young adults and responsible citizens.  The development of these skills will have considerable impact on students' ability to enter work and adult life as confident and capable individuals who can make a positive contribution to society.

Our curriculum provides a range of learning opportunities, events and experiences; all of which contribute to ensure PLTS are fully developed.  These opportunities allow for the skills identified within PLTS to be practised in different contexts and reinforced over an extended period of time thus providing for progression.
