ICT

The aim of the ICT department is to enhance students learning through specialist teaching, high expectations and access to up to date hardware and software. The department is strongly committed to Teaching and Learning based around inclusion, individual needs and equal opportunities. Richard Lander School has invested heavily in multimedia equipment and up-to-date software to ensure students have the best learning experience possible.

We have 4 dedicated ICT suites, each with an interactive whiteboard and 32 PCs. All PCs use Microsoft XP operating system and Office applications. Other software standard to all ICT suites includes Macromedia Studio MX Suite, Inspiration, Photoshop Elements and Audacity. Other hardware includes digital cameras and camcorders.

As a proactive department we are dedicated to offering all of our students access to ICT facilities outside the school curriculum. During most lunchtimes, ICT rooms are available for student use. We run ‘coursework clinics' after school for Key Stage 4 students as well as a variety of clubs for Key Stage 3 including ‘CC4G' for year 7 girls.
