ICT : Key Stage 3

In years 7, 8 and 9 students follow a course based on the National Strategy for ICT.

Course overview

ICT Lessons at Key stage 3 prepares students for a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly transformed by access to varied and developing technology. ICT is also a core skill relied upon by other subject areas when researching and presenting work.

Students focus on acquiring the skills, knowledge and understanding of ICT tools to find, explore, analyse, exchange, and present information responsibly, creatively, and with discrimination.

Increased capability in the use of ICT promotes independent learning and increased problem solving ability, with students being able to make value judgements about when and where to use ICT to best effect, and to consider the social and economic implications of increasing technological advances both now and in the future.
