On the 21st January Dr Garvican, a histopathologist, came into school to tell us all about his job and career pathway.
He showed us how slides from cancer biopsies are made and how to tell if a sample is cancerous or not. We had an opportunity to look at some of the slides that he brought with him and then tried to make our diagnoses using a quiz which he had prepared.
This was a really informative afternoon, and you never know, we might just have had the next histopathologist in the lab.
