Science KS3

To meet both departmental and school aims we have adopted the QCA scheme of work for Key Stage 3. Our course is, therefore, set out in modules that take into account of progression in knowledge and skills.

Each module is structured to ensure that students are involved in a range of experiences which include opportunities to assess students' progress both formatively and summatively. Modules are based on the Heinemann Science Scheme, books 1,2 and 3. Staff are, when possible, assigned to a teaching group for the whole year and teach a range of modules across all the KS3 programmes of study

Key stage 3 SATs results

For many years we have consistently enjoyed excellent achievement at Key stage 3, with the percentage of students attaining level 5 or better above average results both nationally and within the local authority.
