It is important that our young people develop the kind of values which will help address global sustainability issues and environmental concern. These issues are addressed across all curriculum areas and in key activities beyond the curriculum such as our Green Team and the Greenpower Car Project, which has gained national recognition for its eco-sustainability design.
Our students lead on much of our sustainability projects through the student led Green Team - our environment Club. They drive the school's recycling and conservation work and also have an input into senior team decisions on sustainability and environmental issues. The Green Team have been featured on BBC Spotlight News, with an article on their excellent recycling strategies.
At a wider level, Richard Lander School has recently taken lead role in an international student conference focusing on sustainability issues. This included ten Cornish secondary schools plus their International partners from a range of countries including: France, USA, Uganda, China and India.
