Our school is committed to working in partnership with others. To this
end we are actively involved in collaborative working with the

Truro Roseland Learning Community
This is a broad network of
local secondary schools (i.e. Richard Lander, Penair and The Roseland)
and the local Tertiary College (ie. Truro College) and our various
primary schools. This partnership focuses on professional
networking/development/innovation exchange and celebrating student
achievements in a variety of contexts and promoting the well-being of
all the young people in the schools and college of our city and the
surrounding communities.
Truro Roseland Learning Community (Extended Schools)
This partnership also has a central role in developing extended schools provision in the Truro and Roseland areas.
Leading Edge
We are a DfEs designated Leading Edge school and
work collaboratively with two other local secondary schools (i.e.
Penair and The Roseland) on curricular and professional development
initiatives.
Cornwall School Centred Initial Teacher Training
We are a founder member of the Cornwall SCITT and remain involved in our local post-graduate teaching training programme.
Training School
We are a designated training school and a
member of the ‘C4’ group (i.e. Helston, Penair, Penrice schools and
ourselves). As such we are involved in teacher training professional
development initiatives.
Mechanicsburg Area School District International Partnership
A
flourishing educational partnership has been operative since 1999
between ourselves and the Mechanicsburg Area School District in
Pennsylvania, USA. Each year there is a student exchange programme and
also a teacher placement programme. Both initiatives have provided
opportunities for students and teachers from both communities to
experience life in a culture different from their own and to gain an
insight into another educational institution and curriculum.
Our involvement in the above acknowledges our belief in the importance
of building international partnerships and our commitment to the global
dimension. At the present time we are seeking additional partner
schools in various parts of the world.
