What's Going On: Key Stage 4 Dance - The Lion King

Key Stage 4 students give a final performance of 'The Lion King' in the school hall - Carrick Dance 2015

Report by Nesta Griffiths – Year 8

Carrick Dance blew everyone away with outstanding performances this year. Students from Primary and Secondary schools in the Truro and Falmouth area performed their spectacular dances at the Hall for Cornwall on Monday 23rd March, and at Penryn College on Tuesday 24th March. KS3 students put on the amazing performance of Alice in Wonderland, choreographed by Lisa Ann McNally, where they told the story of how Alice got lost in Wonderland with all the classic storybook characters being portrayed by dancers. KS4 students then astounded everyone with their complex and original show of the Lion King, choreographed by Taylor-Sian Paciuszko, which told the story of how Simba felt after his father died. The choreographers did a superb job of designing the performances which made the audience feel like they were in Wonderland and Africa. Some Richard Lander School Year 10 and 11 students then gave us an amazing contemporary finale which demonstrated athletics and strength.
