Collaborative Olympic Art Exhibition

Richard Lander students from years 7 to 9 have developed work for the collaborative Olympic Art Exhibition currently showing at Sainsburys. Students developed new designs for the Gold and Silver 2012 Olympic Medals. Students used recycled materials and experimented with textures and relief work.

George Doyle-Lay, who carried the Olympic Torch on 19th May, said, we really enjoyed making the medals and working to the Olympic theme. Its cool to design a new medal and bring all the designs together; they are all so different and shiney!

Miguel Richmond, year 8, said It was great to make work which will be shown in an exhibition with our primary schools; I cant wait to see everyones work together!

A number of our feeder primary schools have been working really hard to produce work for the exhibition and the large scale canvases are all very different. Materials range from collage, to pencil shading, to ceramic tiles and the exhibition is full of young Artistic talent.
