By Elliott and Liv, Year 10.
On Tuesday, a group of year 10 students went to the Cornwall Skills Show at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge. There were stalls in 10 different industry areas, showcasing elements of work life in a variety of career paths. Sectors included Creative & Digital, Marine, Energy & the Environment, Construction & Manufacturing and Food and Farming. There were also representatives from the Armed Forces and Emergency Services. We were able to speak to people from many industries about colleges, universities and employment and ask lots of questions.
The trip was informative and really enjoyable. We could do things like stroke a cow and attempt to stack cups while wearing goggles to demonstrate the effects of ecstasy. One of the most popular areas was the virtual reality headsets in the Digital sector. It helped to show what a wide range of opportunities we all have after Year 11.
