On Friday 4th October our students visited Mount Kelly College in Tavistock to take part in the English Schools Cross Country Cup. This was the first time the school has taken part in this event and further develops our provision of Cross Country which has been developing over the last few years.
In very windy conditions and on a tough ‘hilly’ course our 20 students ran with great determination and achieved some very credible results. This was both a team and individual competition with the top 3 positions all receiving individual medals and the top 4 runners from each age group contributing to an overall team result.
Richard Landers highlights were:
Individual
Junior Boys - Jacob Webb 3rd, Elliot Stoddard 5th
Junior Girls - Bridie Buist 9th
Inter Girls - Maisy Luke 1st
Inter Boys - Luke Mills 3rd, Gilly Smith 4th
Team (22 Schools took part)
Junior Boys - 3rd
Junior Girls - 5th
Inter Boys - 3rd
This means that the Junior and Inter Boys will qualify for the South-West competition to be held in Taunton in November.
Congratulations to all our students who took part, once again representing the school and themselves brilliantly.
