Following our success in the Cornwall and Devon Competition, 2 of our boys teams qualified for the regional Cross Country event in Taunton on Saturday 9th November. Sadly due to unavailability our Junior Boys didn’t compete but we still took our 4 Inter Boys to this run in this high level competition.
The extreme wet weather of the past few weeks, and the torrential morning rain meant the course was extremely wet and muddy. Thankfully the sun did come out when it was time for the boys to run and, against some outstanding competition, all the boys performed brilliantly. These were the results for our 4 boys:
Luke Mills - 15th, Gilly Smith - 23rd, Jake Allen - 35th, Dawid Miezianko - 57th
Collectively that gave the school a position of 10th in the South-West, a really commendable effort.
In the next 2 months we have several other Cross Country competitions coming up and we wish our students the best of luck for these events. Should any students wish to enter the County Championships in January they should come and see Mr Stoddard for a letter but please be aware that this is an elite competition.
