Eco-AMP, Richard Lander School’s Young Enterprise company, have been hard at work developing their products and selling them at the YE Christmas Fair and in school.
The team have come up with a sustainable, single use plastic free product which uses the laws of physics to amplify a mobile phone’s speaker.
The attractive looking speakers are made from bamboo, with the mobile phone being held in place by an elastic sleeve made from recycled wetsuit material which has been donated by local surf schools. They can be used with any mobile phone. Eco-AMP have also developed bamboo mobile phone holders. The speakers cost just £15, and the mobile phone holders are £5.
Eco-AMP are being supported this year by Natalie Chard from SUEZ. Volunteering as a business advisor, Natalie said: “It’s fantastic to be able to work with enthusiastic young entrepreneurs. The Young Enterprise Company programme gives students a brilliant insight into the world of business and the experience they get can be life changing.”
Mrs Ford is feeling very optimistic about this year’s YE company and we are all hoping for a regional win!
