Cornwall Schools Cross Country Championship

Added 2 years ago

On Saturday 18th January,  21 of our top Cross Country runners  competed in Newquay for the annual Cornwall Schools Cross Country Championship.  This is a really high level competition and credit must go to all our runners for competing at this  challenging level.

In very muddy and challenging conditions, although the usual gale force wind and howling rain thankfully wasn’t around this year, our students once again did themselves and the school proud.

In a field of over 200 athletes from 24 Cornish secondary schools, our result highlights were:

Individual
Year 7 Boys – 1st and County Champion  - Charlie Luke
Year 8/9 Boys – 3rd  - Luke Mills
Year 10/11 Girls - 1st and County Champion  - Maisy Luke

In addition, we had several other students who also finished in the top 20 places and will therefore be considered for Cornwall selection at the South-West Championship to be held at Kings Park, Bournemouth on Saturday February 8th.

Team
Our Year 8/9 Girls finished 1st in the team competition – They were; Pollyanna Gardiner, Erin Goldring, Ruby Ali, Bridie Buist, Olivia Dupuy and Flo Davey
Well done to all the students that took part and special congratulations to the trophy winning students pictured here!
