On the first Saturday of half term, Richard Lander athletes travelled to Par to compete in the Brooks Cornwall Track and Field Championships.
Georgia Doyle-Lay, year 9, and one of Cornwall AC’s most promising up and coming young athletes, smashed her own triple jump record three times during the competition, leaping 10m metres 17, 10 m 34 and finally 10m 45!
Not satisfied with that, Georgia then went on to win the 200m (27.3), 300m (43.1), before joining with her relay team to set a new Championship Best Performance in the 4 x 100 metre relay. An outstanding day’s performance!
Ollie Clark was not to be outdone, and also set a county record (46.2) with the Cornwall AC Men’s Sprint Relay Team in their 4 x 100m race. Ollie was one of 2 Under 17 runners who ran with Under 20 team mates.
Well done to all the students that attended and congratulations to Georgia and Ollie on their amazing results!
