The Salters Festival of Chemistry at Plymouth University

Added 6 years ago

On Thursday 24th April we took a team of four Year 8 pupils to The University of Plymouth for ‘The Salters Institute Festival of Chemistry’. This is an annually held chemistry competition designed to inspire the chemists of the future. Last year we won a prize at the event and we were hoping for more accolades in this year’s festival. Our team Josephine Cowley, Alex Finlay, Dulcie Havers and Patrick Wilkins all performed brilliantly and had great fun experiencing chemistry in a fully functioning university laboratory. Unfortunately due to stiff competition from the other schools this year we didn’t manage to win a prize. Nevertheless the students had a fun day out and had a fantastic insight into the workings of a University. Well done team; you are a credit to the school and it was a privilege to take you out for the day.
