Young Enterprise Cornwall Innovation Awards Atlantic Hotel Newquay Thursday 8th May
The Company, a Young Enterprise business from Richard Lander School have been successful in winning an entrepreneurial award. The Company is a business which specialises in creating customised items, focusing on key rings. The Company is environmentally friendly and reuses materials whenever possible. The Innovation Awards was a gruelling task and the year 10 students handled the pressure well. The Company had a professional trade stand and were interviewed by a panel of judges, They also produced a professional company report. Guests from successful Cornish businesses were invited to the event to visit the student trade stands. Feedback from the business people recognised how passionate the students are about their business and how persuasive their selling techniques are. The final element of the event was the presentations, the students were professional and gave an outstanding presentation to a ballroom crammed full with over 200 people—not an easy task. A big congratulations to all students who have been involved in The Company since January and especially to Cameron Skyes (Managing Director), Saffron Blake, Elyshia Pearce, Joe Boyd and Jordan Collins who represented the group on Thursday. The Company will continue trading until July and would like to thank Young Enterprise, their Sponsors and also their Link Teacher Miss Whittington and Business Advisor Mr Wickett ( a former Richard Lander Student).
They have enjoyed learning about fair trade and ethical trading and are glad to have won the prize of a Thornton’s Easter egg.
