Mr Beech along with 5 of his friends are to spend 10 days over Easter attempting to ride the length of the UK on off-road motorcycles, using only the network of ‘green lanes’ (RUPPs - Road Used as Public Paths & BOATs - Byways Open to All Traffic).
They are doing this to fulfil a lifetime’s ambition and to raise money for charity and have chosen 5 charities between them to support which include ‘Lander for Uganda’ and Pentire's chosen charity of the year - Cornwall Air Ambulance. Jackie Eastwood came into school assembly last week to teach Pentire students about the vital work of Cornwall Air Ambulance and Richie Carrington told students all about the trip.
Cornwall Air Ambulance is in it’s 29th year and has always been entirely funded by public donations. There were over 700 rescue missions last year alone with young people being rescued in around 10% of these.
Mr Beech and the other bikers depart from sunny Cornwall on 28th March, they drive to John O’Groats and then they set off on the bikes for Land’s End. They are being supported by Martins Motorcycles of Brea Village, Philps World Famous Pasties & Rock Oil.
We hope to keep you updated on their progress via the school Facebook page
