Falmouth University has been running a film making course for 50 years and to help mark this they set a film making challenge that was open to all film makers.
The brief was to create a film of no more than 50 seconds of any genre or style but to incorporate the theme of 50 somehow.
We had three students who entered and created really imaginative films; Charlie Meads, Meg Llewellyn and Joe Barber. Charlie was inspired by skateboarding and Meg and Joe worked together on a film that was about what they would do with £50. They said they got the idea from watching other films on YouTube. Both films were fantastic and showed a really creative approach.
Meg and Joe joined lots of University students at the Plaza Cinema in Truro to watch their film being shown on the big screen. They watched over 60 short films and said that they got lots of ideas for future films from watching such a diverse range particularly from the university entries.
