Dear Parent/Carer,
In previous years we have set aside the last full week of the school term for a programme of activities for students in Years 7 to 9 known as Curriculum Enrichment Week (CEW). As a school, we found this week hugely beneficial for the whole school community in terms of providing opportunities, new experiences, forming relationships and to broaden their horizons.
This year’s Curriculum Enrichment Week will take place from Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July. The 5 days of CEW will include a mixture of school based curriculum pursuits or day long activities. We expect the choices made to be thoughtful, so that a good range of activities can be enjoyed. Students are able to choose a maximum of 3 out of school activities.
Some year 9 students will be completing their Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions over the Monday[1]Tuesday or Wednesday- Thursday. This will be prefilled on the booking system.
Attached to this letter/email are the instructions on how to book your child’s activities. Your log in details have been sent separately via email. On the system, you will be able to review the activities and their availability during the week.
The booking system is going live at 12pm noon on Thursday 1st February. Some activities have limited spaces and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you are unable to complete the online form, please contact CEW@richardlander.cornwall.sch.uk so that we may assist you with your query.
Curriculum Enrichment Week is an integral part of the “whole school experience” for every child and takes place in term time. We ask parents to complete an absence request form for any planned absence during this week, this form can be found on the school website. Please ensure the online booking form is completed by Wednesday 21st February.
Please note, if you choose a paid activity, payment will need to be made by Tuesday 30th April 2024, any unpaid places on trips will be cancelled, and your child placed on an available free in[1]school activity. Should any issues regarding payment arise please contact the school’s Finance Team on finance@richardlander.cornwall.sch.uk as soon as possible, so that we can work with you to resolve the problem. The early payment date is necessary so that the school can cancel any unpaid places.
All payments need to be made via our online payments system ParentPay (which can be accessed through the school website). The website is secure and you can pay by either Debit or Credit card. If you wish to pay by Cash, you will need a separate letter with a Barcode, which you can take to your nearest PayPoint store.
