On Friday, 22nd November, Richard Lander School hosted a Lander4Uganda School Sleepover, a night filled with excitement, teamwork, and community spirit. Around 300 students participated, raising an impressive £4,500 for our Ugandan partner schools. This funding will go directly toward essential maintenance, building projects, and hosting events when the Lander4Uganda 2025 team travels to Uganda in July nest year.

The sleepover offered an incredible array of activities to keep everyone engaged. High-energy options like football, basketball, dodgeball, Nerf Wars, and Just Dance encouraged friendly competition and teamwork. For those seeking a more relaxed pace, students enjoyed karaoke, art and crafts, baking, Minecraft, and gaming. The Uganda team made sure there was something for everyone, creating a truly inclusive and memorable evening.

A massive thank you goes out to the dedicated staff and the amazing Year 10 team, who worked tirelessly throughout the night. From running activities to manning the tannoy in main reception, cooking breakfast, cleaning up, and keeping spirits high, their hard work ensured the success of this fantastic event. Despite getting very little sleep themselves, their efforts brought smiles to hundreds of students and helped us achieve our fundraising goal.

The Lander4Uganda School Sleepover is a shining example of how our school community comes together to make a meaningful difference. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and contributed to its success. We are so proud of what we achieved together and cannot wait to see the positive impact these funds will have on our Ugandan partner schools next summer. 💛
